Brandon Poole is a Masters of Visual Studies candidate (2020) within the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours and distinction from the University of Victoria’s Visual Arts program. He was shortlisted for both the 2016 and 2017 Presentation House Gallery’s Phil B. Lind Emerging Artist prize. He is a recent recipient of an Ontario Graduate Scholarship as well as a Social Science and Humanities Research Council grant (2019). Brandon has recently read a news article retelling the story of a man who, while sitting on his porch with coffee in hand alongside his beloved dog, witnessed an eagle drop out of the sky into the back of his pickup truck. Within the span of a week, first the dog, then the man, and finally the eagle all died. Brandon hopes his own leaving will have such resonant ambiguity.
